Students in seventh and eight grade study the different written works and forms. In this course, students will explore different types of writing and learn how to approach it as readers. Students will be given different strategies to approach reading that will be both challenging and new. Most importantly, students will be asked to explore writing and reading in relation to art. Therefore, students will be doing cross curricular work in which they construct a piece of art based on their reading. I expect for this class to be both exciting, new, and challenging to my students. My hope for this class is to help students discover the creative side of themselves and to help enrich that.
