Course Description

Students in seventh grade study the biology of cells and how they compose all living things. Students will construct their own plant and animal cells as a basis for understanding the different parts and function of each cell. Students' understanding of cell biology will further help them understand genetics, evolution, as well as earth and life history. One of the most exciting and anticipated events is the dissection of a frog and piglet, which will take place during third trimester during our study of the structure and function of living systems. In preparation for this dissection students will learn about dissection tools and science lab safety. Through scientific inquiry, students will develop into young, analytical scientists.
